Faith Community Christian School Board
We are Run by You, the Parent!

PURPOSE

The Faith Christian School board sets vision and policy for the school. The Board assures that the operations of the school are in harmony with the Constitution and the FCCS Association. The School Board consists of 7 elected members. Members are elected from the constituency for three-year terms with members eligible for a maximum of 2 consecutive terms. New members are then elected at the Annual Spring Meeting of the FCCS Association which usually takes place in May.

In addition, board members serve on a variety of committees. Other parents are needed and encouraged to serve on these committees.

COMMITTEE STRUCTURE

Board members serve on a variety of committees. Other parents are needed & encouraged to serve on these committees. The chair of each committee is responsible to decide on the skills and qualities needed for the committee and then to seek parents to fill those roles. The FCCS Board committees are as follows:

The Education Committee
The Education Committee works to integrate academic excellence with Christian values, enabling students to be academically prepared servants of Christ. The Education Committee is to make recommendations to the School Board concerning and related to issues such as:
o Current conditions of curriculum & recommendations textbook adoptions
o Teacher evaluation, teacher development, and staff hiring.
o Class time and class size are evaluated.

The Finance Committee
The Finance Committee facilitates financial management of the school with the assistance of the administrator & the bookkeeper. Financial statements are reviewed and presented to the Board at its monthly meeting.  The committee formulates a budget for the following school year. The final draft of the budget is approved by the board and is brought before the Association for its vote at the annual meeting in the fall.

The Promotions/Marketing Committee
The Promotions /Marketing Committee increases the school’s visibility in the community by obtaining coverage of important school events.  The Committee hosts kindergarten Round-up & prospective family open houses throughout the year to recruit new families.

The Public Relation Committee
Establishing a sense of community for the existing families is the goal of the Public Relations Committee.  This committee sponsors events such as Family Picnic.  It publishes quarterly, "FCCS Flashes", which covers current school events.  The ultimate goal of the Public Relations Committee is to implement a program of action designed to enhance & strengthen family involvement of Christian Education within the FCCS community.

The Property Committee
The Property Committee oversees the maintenance, safety, and future space needs of the school facility and surrounding grounds.

The Technology Committee
The Technology Committee concerns itself with all equipment and software.
